Spring & fall cleanup

A yard that starts the season clean in spring, and is ready for winter come fall.

Between the spring melt and the first hard frost, every property collects its share of dead leaves, broken branches, leftover de-icing grit and the debris winter leaves behind. L'Île Verte's seasonal cleanup sets it all right: we rake and remove, clear out the garden beds, cut back perennials and get the season off to a clean start. It's the service that makes the difference between a yard that looks neglected and a landscape that finally has room to breathe.

Whether you're in Montreal, Laval or across the North Shore, our crews come through in spring to wake the property up and again in fall to ready it for frost and snow. Because L'Île Verte works all four seasons — from winter snow removal to summer maintenance — we already know your property and schedule each cleanup at the right time, not too early and not too late.

Why a seasonal cleanup matters

In spring, a yard that spent the winter under snow needs to be cleared before the lawn and plants restart. Matted leaves and debris smother the grass, trap moisture and invite fungal disease and snow mould. Clearing early lets light and air reach the soil — it's the first step, before fertilization and aeration, toward a dense, healthy lawn all summer long.

In fall, the cleanup prepares your landscape to face a Quebec winter. We pull the leaves before they pack into a layer that suffocates the lawn under the snow, cut back perennials, empty the beds of faded annuals and clear the surfaces. A property cleaned up properly in November means a far easier spring — and far fewer unpleasant surprises once the snow melts.

The process is straightforward: we assess the property, agree on the right timing based on the weather and how far along the season is, then the crew rakes, blows and clears out the beds. All green waste is gathered and hauled away — you never have to deal with bags or hauling. For clients who already trust us with mowing, hedge trimming or snow removal, the cleanup folds naturally into a four-season maintenance plan across Greater Montreal.

Frequently asked questions

When is the best time for a spring cleanup?
Usually mid-April to mid-May in Greater Montreal, once the snow is fully gone and the ground has dried enough that we can walk on the lawn without damaging it. We watch the weather and schedule your cleanup for the right window; it's best to reach out early in spring to reserve your spot on the calendar.
What affects the price of a seasonal cleanup?
Mainly the size of the property, the volume of leaves and debris to clear, the number and density of garden beds, the presence of large trees, and how much green waste there is to haul away. A wooded lot in fall takes more work than a small city yard. We assess each property on site and give you a free, no-obligation quote.
Do you serve both homes and businesses?
Yes. We handle residential properties as well as buildings, businesses and condo associations in Montreal, Laval and across the North Shore. For commercial clients and condo boards, the cleanup can be built into a seasonal maintenance contract coordinated with the rest of the services.
Do I need both a spring and a fall cleanup, or is one enough?
The two work together. The fall cleanup cuts down what accumulates under the snow and makes spring easier; the spring cleanup clears what winter left behind and gets the lawn going again. Many clients book both in a single plan, but we can also schedule a single visit to fit your needs and budget.
